This weeks set up:

Again this week I used dyes and coloured asatate, but painted out the background with black acrylic. Overall I'm happy with the "cosmic" feel of the piece.

Today we worked from this structure Phil put together;

I mainly focused on the cones in general, using mixed media consisting of dye, pastels, asatate and newspaper

This week was to use the space around the model as well.

Focused on negative space for this session. Also did an exercise where we couldn't take our hand of the paper so it was a continuous line (pic.4 left drawing)

First time doing life drawing, and it was a very helpful experience. A mixture of long a short drawing sessions.

Worked from this structure. I quickly sketched out the basic shape and then moved onto using the paint. I tried to make it as interesting as possible, I would let the colours bleed to blend and create some shading. Afterwards I just let the paint run. I'm quite please with the result:

Base structure for our drawings today. 

I followed the base and began to build on it. It started to feel like an oriental citadel type of thing.
